It’s that Friday Five time again…
When was the last time you…
1. …sent a handwritten letter?
Er… I used to have tons of pen pals all over the world during the NKOTB era. I still randomly keep in touch with a few. I think the last letter I wrote was to Wendy, someone who’s been a ‘pen pal’ for… gosh, for 11 years now. We did meet once when she came to the US the first time and I showed her around Los Angeles. That was very cool… she’s been in Florida for the last year. She was able to get a work visa. I wrote her back in May before she was set to leave and go home to South Africa. I have not heard from her lately… I’m sure she will be sending a postcard soon.
2. …baked something from scratch or made something by hand? I attempted to bake cookies last Saturday for a party but I screwed it up. Usually they come out freaking awesome. I’m a perfectionist with my baking so even though they were a little off, I didn’t bring them. I did make a mango and avocado salsa though. And that was so darn yummy.
3. …camped in a tent? The very last time was the night of May 14 on Hollywood Blvd. – it was the last night of the Star Wars line.
4. …volunteered your time to church, school, or community?
Well, I don’t belong to any church and am no longer in school or active in my ‘community’. In the non-traditional sense of the word community, I think I volunteer a lot of my time to the Ewan Sisterhood and to the community of Jonathan Rhys Meyers fans online. And I put in a lot of time to make the Star Wars line happen and run as smooth as possible.
5. …helped a stranger?
Gosh… I think I do this more often than I realize. Like if someone drops money on the ground, I will pick it up and chase after a person to give it back. Or when someone sends me an email asking a photoshop or graphic question. So I really can’t think of the last time since it was probably something like that… and nothing sticks out. That seems kinda sad since I think I’m a pretty helpful person.

Man… what a way to start the day… Pete lost. So sad. I didn’t even watch the match and I’m glad I didn’t cause I would be more upset than I already am. I’m close to crying. I always get so emotional when he plays especially when it’s close and goes to 5 sets and Pete is not playing his best, which he wasn’t. But he’ll be back. I’m confident he will cause that is not how he wants to say goodbye to Wimbledon.
On a happier note, going to see Raiders of the Lost Ark tonight. It’s playing on this giant screen (really, the side of a building) in the parking lot of an Ikea in hot as hell Burbank. Random. I have not see that flick in a long while and it’s always been my favorite Indy movie. Meeting up with lots of crazy line members so I know it will be fun… and I’ll have plenty to roll my eyes at as usual. I can’t wait… just not looking forward to the heat. I’m so spoiled living near the ocean.

I want to get tickets for two shows next month, Sneaker Pimps and Ben Kweller at the Roxy. But I’m not sure what my schedule will be like then… especially if I wind up heading to Edmonton for more than a couple of days if my babe has his surgery then. Yeah… surgery. He doesn’t know when he can get it scheduled and hopefully it can be this summer cause the next two summers he plans to take summer school so he can graduate as soon as possible. And it will take some time to recover from this… but I don’t want to get into specifics. It’s major surgery but it’s going to make things better so that’s all that matters and I definitely want to be there for him when he has it done.
I’ve been so super dooper moody this last week or two. I know part of it is not getting good sleep lately but I’m really not sure why I get angry at lame things and overall, have not been a pleasant person to be around. My boy is here. I should be happy. We are fixing up my place. We are spending time together. But I keep getting easily pissed off and stressed out and depressed. I need a vacation. I need to relax. I need some sleep.

Funniest quote of the day: “I wouldn’t want to live in Los Angeles because, you know, it’s all movie stars and big boobs.” – Avril Lavigne
Oh yeah… oh yeah… this skater-punk French Canadian wouldn’t last two seconds in Los Angeles where real skaters and punks would kick her ass flat.
No offense intended to fans of this young gal… she seems talented and all but this comment just had me laughing and rolling my eyes at the same time. Ignorant judgemental comments really make me yawn. Wait… am I making ignorant and judgemental comments towards her? Hmm… something to ponder…
Other funny stuff… that Fabrizio Moretti was picked by YM magazine as one of the 20 hottest guys.

We didn’t end up seeing Minority Report over the weekend. Hope to see it later this week… but we did see Lilo & Stitch and it was the BEST. It was so funny and so sweet and I cried several times. I’m a wuss. I can’t wait to see it again – it was that good.
Pete won his first match at Wimbledon. Whew.

I think this sounds like a good idea, but could I pull it off? And would I get sponsors? Hmm… things to ponder.

Friday Five seems to be up and running again so here I go…
1. Do you live in a house, an apartment or a condo?
Until a few weeks ago I lived in a house. Now I live in a 2 bedroom condo.
2. Do you rent or own?
I own… so instead of paying rent, I pay a mortage. Yeesh.
3. Does anyone else live with you?
At the moment, my boyfriend and my friend are living here. But normally, it will just be me. No pets. Yet.
4. How many times have you moved in your life?
I moved away to college — and then during the summers would move back home but would always have a lot of stuff at my parents’ house. So if I don’t count my college years then my recent move to my new condo is the only real move I’ve ever made. I’ve grown up and lived in the same house and same room for the majority of my life.
5. What are your plans for this weekend?
Going to see Minority Report (not keen on the Tom Cruise factor but…) tonight, going a party of line friends tomorrow, then Sunday I hope to see Lilo & Stitch. Can’t wait to see that… and sometime, get some sleep since I’ve had very little all this week.
