where is the life that I recognize

Got back from NY last week. Whirlwind of getting caught up with work, finishing up a big project, spending time with my boy, and decompressing from my insane trip.

Eddie declared this the Duran Duran Bipolar Tour of 2007. First bad news, then good, then bad, then good. It was pretty ridiculous. Saturday was a day for disappointment and disbelief. Travel all the way to NY to hear about the strike and canceled shows. Sob on sidewalk in middle of Chinatown. What the fuck is going on?

CRAZY

I’m posting quickly from the big NY Apple store.

NY is cold. This whole trip has been trippy to say the least.

Arrived safely and turned on my phone to find myself bombarded with messages that the strike on Broadway meant no Duran Duran show that night. Even worse, the shows on Monday and Tuesday were cancelled too.

Talk about DRAMA. And lots of crying involved too. I can’t even begin to describe.

Yesterday, we got the good news that the band had found an alternate venue for the Monday and Tuesday shows. We’re now set to go tonight at Roseland. Not quite the same but better then no show!

And through a crazy twist of fate (and the help of a publicist), I ended up getting passes to the August Rush premiere held last night!!!

I got to watch the movie with Jonathan Rhys Meyers sitting 10 rows behind me. INSANITY.

Afterwards, I actually had the chance to talk to Jonny (also saw his brother Jamie and Reena.)

I’ll go into more details when I have more time. But I met him… got my photo with him, shook his hand. He was so nice and gracious to all of the people inside who asked for autographs and photos and he did the same outside…. just so incredibly nice… and adorable.

So yah…… that’s how NY is going. I’m still in state of WTF is going on?!?! :D

you’ll always be my queen of tumble down

You now can hear all of “Red Carpet Massacre” on VH1. I’d previously only heard this in a party held outside with not the best sound. And there were other factors to keep me distracted. So here’s some impressions, musings, *squeeing*. You’ve been warned.
