meet Baxter
Today was an eventful day!
We finally visited a rescue shelter and adopted this little guy today after falling in love with him.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks for us… family visits, spending time with our nephews, annual 4th of July family BBQ, 3rd year wedding anniversary, Hellboy, Val’s birthday, seeing Coldplay with Eddie (that’s a whole other post in itself)…
And well, dog wise, it’s been crazy. The Sunday after the 4th, we ended up rescuing a dog that tried to adopt us. She hung out on our porch and wanted very badly to come inside our home. But she was very thin and obviously in need of care. We brought her in to the local shelter and the very next day her owner found her. Happy reunion!
Then last night, a beagle wandered into our backyard and was rummaging in this area that has lots of tall weeds. There’s a hole there in the fence and he somehow got in that way. When we tried to go outside and check him out, he started howling and then took off.
Now today… we have a new puppy. It’s surreal. We’re very tempted to go back to the shelter and adopt another dog, but we’ll see. There were so many wonderful dogs but this little guy just stood out to us. He has such personality and is adorable and goofy. We’re not 100% sure yet on his new name, but he’s made himself right at home. We’re looking forward to making him part of our family.
