attack of the cuteness!
Sometimes it feels like Baxter has always been with us.
He’s doing well. He can now sit, stay, and lie down for us. He can even sit without the use of treats. And he’s making it through the night without needing to go outside for a pee break. But he still pulls too much when on the leash, doesn’t come when called, and once a day goes a little nuts and tries to attack the carpet, his blanket, or his tail.
Only a couple more days on antibiotics and we can take him to the dog park again. And sign him up for obedience classes.
It’s been tiring, emotional, not easy… there were times I wasn’t sure we were ready for this responsibility and such a change in our lives. But there’s no turning back now.
There’s nothing better then watching Remi play with him or when Baxter tries to curl up in my lap for a snooze. He can get you mad or frustrated and then he just does something that melts your heart. One look, one sigh, one stretch, one roll off the couch. He’s our little guy now and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
