you hide yourself behind the wall

I’ve been silent on this blog for months now. I’m not entirely sure why. I’ve been busy of course. I always feel so busy but it’s really an excuse. I think I’m not sure what I want this blog to be anymore.

some changes around here

I’m slowly working on a new look based off this fabulous template.

I’m also working on editing this blog, which I’ve been writing since February 1999. Woah. That’s 10 years. Time for changes.

This is no longer going to be a personal driven blog as much as it has been. I’ll be sticking to LJ for anyone who wants to keep up with my life in that respect. This blog will focus more on concert reviews, music, traveling, living in Los Angeles, and general photo fun. Give or take a few random posts. And even then, I don’t know that what I’ve just described really fits either. I think my tagline is more appropriate for what I’m aiming for: “photos, concert reviews, and other ramblings from a native Angeleno”.

Expect a lot of old blog posts to disappear and a few gems to stay around. It’s long overdue and I’m excited.

2008 Year in Review

Go to your Archives/Calendar and find the first entry for each month of 2008. Post the first few lines of it in your journal, and that’s your “Year In Review.”

January: It’s been nice having a break, but now back to work. Back to real world.

February: I don’t really talk politics in my blog. I keep my views mostly to myself because it can be such a touchy subject and I wouldn’t want to offend or be offended.

March: Our first open house on Sunday apparently went really well. Lots of interest, great turn out. And we got an offer about an hour after our open house was over!!!

April: So we still have to wait a few more weeks for them to actually perform on the Today Show (May 16). But yep… new album, new tour, new website, new pandemonium, all over again.

May: Just spent the past few days moving into our new home (and still crazy enough to manage two Duran Duran shows this weekend too.) I’m sore, overwhelmed, full of emotions, thrilled, excited, tired, happy. I love our new house.

June: Trying not to have a heart attack! What wasn’t mentioned is they are playing Spaceland tomorrow night. TOMORROW NIGHT. And I’m going. Holy crap!

July: Duran Duran played a special show with Mark Ronson in Paris the other night. Mark picked all of the songs to play for the 90 minute set and remixed the whole show.

August: Sometimes it feels like Baxter has always been with us.

September: I spent most of this labor day weekend peeved, annoyed, and angry all because John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate.

October: I haven’t posted in what feels like forever. So much has been going on. Good. Bad. Stressful. It’s been a swirl of emotions so much so that I haven’t known what to think about much of anything enough to formulate a post.

November: I stood in line for 2 hours this morning with hundreds of others to vote in this historic election. I’m anxious, nervous, excited, tired. Regardless of the outcome tonight, tears will be shed. And I’ll greet tomorrow full of hope or have more reasons to move to Canada someday.

December: NOOOOOOOOOO! A band I’ve loved and followed since 1998. 10 years. 30+ shows. I’m in shock. I’m sad. I’m bummed. And I’ve got my ticket for the show this Friday. I just didn’t think it would ever be their last.

Happy New Year!

stealing is bad

Stealing is bad. It’s so frustrating when I find a site that is stealing bandwidth or content or layout designs. It makes me feel blue.

links people

I need links people. Everyday I come along a pretty decent weblog. But I always forget to bookmark. I’d like to come back but I get sidetracked whether at work or at home.

Do you actually read this? Link to this? Let me know. Do you know of a kick-ass site that uses blogger? I want to check them out. Ok. Thanks.

new look

New look… hmm… putting a bit more into this place content wise. It’s coming along… slowly…

Light a candle, lay flowers at the door, for those who’re left behind…

Ooh… new look for my weblog. Used Madonna. She is my idol. So why not?

Her new album kicks major butt. I love it. Call me crazy, but I think it’s better than ‘Ray of Light’.

Haven’t checked this in Netscape. I’m sure I’ll be pulling hair. Netscape sucks… they need to stop lagging. I used to only use that browser but I’ve seen the light in the last two years. It’s becoming a dinosaur. But I guess we all are.

And on that happy note…

“Cosmic systems intertwine
Astral bodies drip like wine
All of nature ebbs and flows
Comets shoot across the sky
Can’t explain the reasons why
This is how creation goes”
- Impressive Instant, Madonna

first attempt

This is my first attempt at using blogger. So we shall see how it works out.

I figure this will be the best way to put up my thoughts, either daily or weekly. Much easier than the previous way I was doing things. And I wasn’t really updating that enough anyways… I think I’ll still use it for more of the writing type exercises or maybe I won’t. I don’t know. This is an experiment.
