ouch
So I’m a cripple. Well, I’m going to be one for a while at least. Warning… below is a rather graphic account of what happened to me. It’s not pretty.

We leave for New York in less than 60 hours!!!!!
I’m jumping out of my skin I’m so excited. And of course, over thinking everything. Booked a car to pick us up at the airport today after mulling over many options for weeks. Checking weather reports. Making notes on places we want to visit. And planning out everything we need to pack and what we’ll be wearing. I’m driving Remi a little nuts. He’s the type of person who packs a few minutes before he needs to leave for the airport and never plans much in advance. I’m more the type of person who is ready to go the day before, has print outs of all reservations organized, and spends time rechecking my luggage to pack even lighter and more compact. I love packing for trips. I hate unpacking (At least, Remi and I have that in common…) But we balance each other with our different approaches. He helps me relax and I make sure he doesn’t forget his toothbrush or half the clothes he’ll need. Match made in heaven. Ha.
PS. I really enjoyed Lady in the Water.
We had the most amazing weekend driving up the coast to Monterey, seeing the aquarium, eating yummy meals, exploring the beauty of Big Sur, and enjoying each other’s company.
It was so beautiful and peaceful. And a perfect way to celebrate our anniversary.
Wish we had spent more time up there. Wish we could go back. Wish we could move to our own little cottage in Pacific Grove. It was paradise and we really could see ourselves living up there someday.
Seven years ago today I took Remi to the beach and he saw the ocean for the very first time.
Seven years ago today we held hands as we walked along the Santa Monica Pier.
Seven years ago I got to see Remi’s face light up in wonder and awe as he laid his eyes on the Pacific Ocean and proceeded to jump into the waves with abandon.
Seven years ago I fell completely in love with the man I’m so lucky to call my husband today.
I finally got some photos from our honeymoon up. It was a magical trip and we really loved our relaxing time in Marco Island. Days of lounging by the pool, collecting seashells, eating delicious food, enjoying the spa, or driving around to see the everglades.
The photos don’t do this place justice. How could they? The smells of flowers always lingering in the air, the humidity that soaked through your skin, the incredible sunsets, and the lightening… it rained almost every evening. And the displays of lightning were overwhelming, especially late at night when it would make the ocean glow.
Wish we could go back.
I’ve been meaning to post this for a while but I haven’t had a chance to download the photos from my camera.
Time is flying. I’ve been working a lot as we get closer to ELF. I’m taking 4 days off so I have to make sure all my projects get done or are up to speed before I leave for Orlando.
Then there was my birthday.
I have…
the best husband in the world.
On my actual birthday, we went out to one of my favorite restaurants, the Fish Company in Santa Monica. I had Dungeness Crab, which was incredible. I couldn’t get over how good it was. Great wine and food and spending alone time with my boy… It was a perfect evening.
The next night, the 6th, we had some friends over to hang out. Of course, our AC is still not working (it’s been out since the fire) so it got pretty hot in our small place with so many people filling it out.
Remi had been making me a cake for the past 3 days. I wasn’t allowed to even peek at his creation. That night I finally got to see and taste it. He made me a chocolate and vanilla ice cream cake. He made both ice creams himself and also made the fudge filling too. It was amazing! It tasted great but also looked so good. I can’t believe how much work he put into it. He took my Yoshi stuffed animal and from there made a cake design out of it. See below. It was so sweet and I was touched that he went to all that trouble for me.

This Saturday, Remi and I are going to see Coldplay. Next week we head to Orlando with our friend Autumn for ELF. And before we know it, September will be here. Man, this month has been going by fast.
Busy, busy, busy.
We went yesterday for the change of status interview to get Remi’s conditional permanent resident card. It was nerve wracking. We were told that we didn’t have enough proof showing that we are a viable married couple who live together. It’s not like we’ve ever done this before! We were given 4 hours to bring photos back to the officer. We went back with an album full of wedding and honeymoon photos. He took it along with Remi’s passport and went into this office behind closed doors. Minutes ticked by until he reemerged and gave us the good news. Remi was so pale and nervous that after we left the room, he broke down with relief. This one officer had total control over our futures and it was scary.
We got more photos from friends and our professional photographer that we hired. We LOVE how they turned out. They did an amazing job.
Here’s a few to show some details from our incredible day.
