From LA Times:

PROP 8 PROTEST – NOVEMBER 15th 10:30am PST / 1:30pm EST

Plans are afoot to organize protests against Prop. 8 at every major city hall in California Saturday — with the local focus being on L.A. City Hall (which was famous for those huge immigration rallies a few years ago).

Organizers are urging activists from around the country and Canada to converge on California and are hoping for tens of thousands of participants. Last week’s protests slowly grew in size from hundreds on the Westside Thursday to 12,000 on Saturday night in Silver Lake.

Protests are quickly being planned across the country at major city halls. The protest in LA is just getting organized, details are scant. The main idea is to be united across the country on civil rights for all. California is not the only state where the struggle continues. Anyone hear of any additional legit rallies or protests planned?

Who you gonna call?

On the way to work, we saw this beauty in the back of a big rig.

Looks like it could be an original. Might be promotion for the new video game or the 3rd movie that just got green lit. No idea.

So random… so cool. Only in LA!

life so far

Last week I had a moment where I didn’t feel like I could breathe. Sometimes when I’m being overly dramatic, I might say I’m so stressed out I can’t breathe, but in this moment, it was almost literally happening. I was struggling mightily to keep it all together. I made it through that day. And the rest of the week, which was overall, pretty rough in terms of what’s stressing me out.

But today is Monday. Today is the start of a new week. Today is a good day. Today I’m not focusing on what is going bad, but on what is going right. And there’s so much right going on in my life – I’m blessed. I’m loved. I’m in love. I’m happy. I’m passionate. I’m healthy. I’m full of belief. I’m full of hope. I’m me.

it may seem selfish now, but I’ll hold on to the memory

This past weekend I spent mostly sick, sleeping while sick, or playing My Life as a King. I sure didn’t feel like a monarch much. Went home early Friday with body aches and small fever. Wanted to see Tropic Thunder with friends that night but had to bail. No amount of resting was breaking the fever. Baxter was quite confused that I went straight to bed when I got home instead of walking or playing with him in the middle of the afternoon. Barely slept that night and the next day felt no worse but no better. By the afternoon, I tried gamely to get ready for a friends’ party. I really wanted to get outside for fresh air and didn’t want to miss the housewarming for Jeff and Cela. Without going into specifics, there was no way I was going to make it to the party. Instead, we spent a little time at the dog park with Baxter and back home for more rest.

Sunday was a lot better. I finally had a little bit of energy, I was eating again, I was brightening up. Night comes… and what is normally a very quiet neighborhood turns on it’s head. Our next door neighbors have two teenagers, who decided to have a party while their parents were out of town. They weren’t playing loud music but they were loud when coming and going and while hanging out in their backyard. If this had been a Friday or Saturday, we wouldn’t have cared. But 1am on a Sunday?! Plus it was making Baxter go nuts. Any time he heard someone walk up to their house or talk loudly in the backyard, he started barking and getting anxious. Didn’t help that their own dog was barking too (I don’t think he was happy about the party either) which has a ripple effect on all the other dogs in the area. All 3 of us barely slept. So exhausted! The parents better be back today.

It did get me thinking though… I was left alone on weekends all the time in high school. But I never even entertained the thought of throwing a party behind their backs. Did you? The most I ever did was invite my two best friends over for a sleep over to watch movies and eat junk food. Which my parents always knew about. I was such a square.
