Instead of dwelling on some crap going on right now, I’m finally posting a variation of this ship meme. Instead of 7 ships, I’m picking 8. I like to be even.

1. List your top <strike>seven</strike> eight character ships
2. Put all of them in order of your love for them; <strike>7 to 1</strike> 1 to 8, 1 being your main fixation.
3. Name the movie/show that they’re in.
4. Supply photos for said people.
5. <strike>Tag seven people</strike>

Michael and Maria, Roswell
Michael and Maria were really the first ship that I actively sought out fan fic, wrote my own, created sites for… to this day, I can still lose hours online by finding an old classic fic and rereading it. They had sizzling chemistry and a powerful connection. They were it for each other, no matter how much they drove one another crazy.

Jackie and Hyde, That 70′s Show
Hilarious, feisty, heart warming, real. Their chemistry was evident from the very first season and I was sold. It took awhile for anything to happen between them, but the sparks were always there. And in my world, season 8 does not exist.

Lucas and Peyton, One Tree Hill
Brooding artist + brooding athlete = true love. I love me some angst and this couple delivers on that from the pilot on. Season 6 premieres in a couple weeks and I can’t wait to see how their relationship will continue to unfold.

Angela and Jordan, My So-Called Life
Sigh… the fantasy of crushing on the hottest guy in school. And then he actually notices you. They were flawed, awkward, sweet, messed up, and hot. It wasn’t hard for me to be obsessed from the first episode until the last.

Jesse and Celine, Before Sunrise/Sunset
Romantic. Real. Beautiful. I adore Before Sunrise to pieces. It’s one of my favorite movies. I still remember seeing this my freshman year of college. I took a bus into town to go and see this. I went by myself, during a time that I felt very disconnected from the people I’d met in college. I was completely charmed watching two complete strangers make that ultimate connection, wondering if that would ever happen to me. And when they announced the same team was going to do a sequel? I was thrilled. I was on the edge of my seat trembling when the lights went down in the front row of a theatre with Ethan, Julie, and Richard sitting not that many rows from me. Before Sunset delivered, exceeding all expectations I may have had. It added more layers to this aching romance and these believable characters.

Dylan and Kelly, 90210
I have no idea why I was so drawn to the forbidden couple of 90210. There was something about these two lost souls that just grabbed me. It could also be that I couldn’t stand Brenda and Dylan was hot. I didn’t follow the show past Dylan leaving… but I did tune in a few times once he came back to the show. And I loved that it ended with Dylan and Kelly back together. I doubt they are going to reconcile that ending into the new version of the show, so I have very little interest in watching it. That and the posters for it (on so many billboards and bus stops around Los Angeles) are freaking dumb.

Felicity and Ben, Felicity
Another story that involved a long time crush, where the crush finally noticed the quiet and smart girl. Their chemistry from the pilot on had me always rooting for them. They had lots of ups and downs during the run of the show. What was interesting was that for most of it, they did manage to stay together and work through their problems. It wasn’t typical, it didn’t always make sense, some issues were out of character, but it was mostly well done. And they did end the show on the right note.

Rory and Dean, Gilmore Girls
A first love told in a touching, realistic, and charming way. The writers ruined things from season 2 on, but there’s something about that magical first season that I still adore to this day.

I’ve posted photos from day 3 of our road trip. That day was probably one of the best days of our whole trip. We went canoeing on gorgeous Jackson Lake, went for a fantastic hike into the foothills of the Tetons and literally ran into a black bear on the way back down, we saw butterflies, a glacier fed waterfall, and lots of adorable chipmunks, we were finally able to take a nice hot shower that evening, and had a great meal of buffalo burgers at the Jackson Lodge.

I’d go into more details but those are the highlights. Besides, it’s hard to concentrate right now because but I’m in full Duranie mode.

“Red Carpet Massacre” is due for release on November 13. Duran Duran is going to do a 2 week run on “Broadway” in NYC following the release date. No specific dates/venues have been announced. We’d been hearing rumors of this for a while and both Roger and Nick confirmed it. I was trying not to be too bitter. They did a special fan club only show in New York over the summer and now this??! I don’t understand why they are ignoring Los Angeles since they have such a supportive and huge fanbase here. So I’ve been annoyed.

But not after today. And that’s all I’m going to say for now until after Tuesday. Ahem.

Plus…

I got to see Hot Hot Heat last night for a special free show at Cinespace and it was rad (great crowd, great energy by the band, great show!)

We have our trip all set for NWBrickcon.

I get to see The Hives again on November 7! It’s been too long (their new album hits October 9th).

The spoilers for Season 5 of One Tree Hill are AWESOME (even K-Fed can’t bring them down).

I’ve made 9 sales on half.com since I put up a bunch of stuff (9 sales in 11 days!) I’m amazed!

Remodeling our place is going well. Who knows… maybe by the start of the year, we’ll be able to sell our place and buy a house. Gulp.

You know, my head is close to exploding with everything that’s been going on. Work hectic, family stuff a little nuts, online headaches with a lame web host (any LUNers reading this, we will do what we can to get things back up before we leave), and trying to get everything ready for our massive crazy road trip.

We leave tomorrow. Over 4,000 miles in 17 days. Of course, there’s a heat wave and wildfires going on in many of the states we’re driving through. Good times.

Even with our usual bad luck when traveling (we were in NY for the one week they had a heat wave) we can’t wait. Super excited to see places we’ve never been and take a much needed break from work. And I get nephew therapy in 2 weeks. That’s always good for the soul.

In other happenings… Harry Potter was fun. Might be my favorite HP movie now. But I say that after every new HP movie.

We’re once again addicted to Psych now that season 1 is on DVD. Season 2 premieres tonight with Tim Curry guest starring as his own version of Simon Cowell. Even though we have to do a lot of packing and organizing of camping gear, we will not miss Shawn, Gus, and company.

Will try to post an update when we make it to Edmonton next week. Will try to write a post not as lame as this one. Stay cool out there!

Busy, busy, busy. I should start all my posts the same way.

Going to Vegas on Sunday for a few days… It’s going to be fun since I don’t have any reason for going other than tagging along to attend some nice dinners while my guy works a couple hours each day. It will finally be a nice break I’ve been wanting for ages. Plus, keep trying to find time to do a proper Coachella write-up… and you know there was the Phantom Planet show last week (which rocked). And I keep not finding time. Hopefully, I will also get a little sparetime to continue research/planning for our massive road trip in July.

Speaking of… you know, just when they expect gas prices to get even higher, we’re going to drive over 4,000 miles as we pass through Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Alberta, BC, Washington, Oregon… you know, the entire western coast of North America (sans Baja)!

Yup. I’m looking into what we can do to offset our fuel usage. And plotting out the many miles we will travel together. We are ridiculously excited. Instead of flying to Edmonton for a wedding (where we wouldn’t see anything but Edmonton, and which burns more fuel, and costs double what we’ll be spending on gas), we’re going to drive. And stop in Zion and Grand Teton on the way up. Then hit Jasper, Vancouver (where I found out UBC has a hotel on campus and it’s such a bargain), Astoria, random towns along the coast, and stop in SF to see my brother before heading home.

I’ve also have somewhat of a plan to get myself in better shape too. While I won’t be able to run any trails or hike too strenously, my knee is doing better and better every day. I just need to stick with my exercises and ride my bike more (finally, able to ride again.)

And then yah… finally moved Ewanspotting to be hosted with most of my other domains on one account. It’s got a splashy thing up for now. It needed to be done as I redesign and revamp the entire site. Which I will be doing with Brilliance as well.

TV upfronts this week… and…

This sounds very promising. Parker in a comedy? And written by the crazy gal who created Gilmore Girls? With a really cool cast? I’ll tune in.

I’m glad Lost finally has an end date. I know this was announced a while ago but once the show is actually totally and completely finished, I may start watching season 3.

And my current guilty pleasure One Tree Hill is coming back. Though it’s set for mid-season (which is always a worry), it got a full 22 episode order unlike this year. And apparently when it comes back will run with no repeats or interruptions (it better!). Starting in the fall, there will be video diary episodes posted online to tide us over. Really excited about that idea. Plus they are doing the time jump of 4 years to skip the dreaded college years (90210, Saved By The Bell, Dawson’s Creek, shudder)… and of course CW acting like it was their brilliant idea instead of Mark Schwann. I’m guessing once a couple of their dramas don’t make it, they will bring it back much sooner than mid-season.

Combine that with an outstanding episode last night that sets up the remaining episodes… and Blake actually making the final 2 on AI. I’m a happy camper.
